The bathroom is finally done. Late last night I added another coat of paint. Tonight I removed all the tape and plastic and tools and tins and paraphernalia that my construction project had accumulated over the last two weeks. I scrubbed and cleaned the bathroom, mopped the floor, and put back all the usual mats and towels and stuff you’d expect to see in a bathroom. It feels normal again. It’s about time.

I knew it was going to be difficult to find the time amidst all my other responsibilities, but I didn’t expect it to take quite that long. Oh well.

Now for my next project, finish the basement. Framing, insulation, windows, doors, plumbing, wiring, drywall, flooring, paint. Any chance I’ll manage to finish that in my lifetime? Nah! But I still dream.
