Family Life

We have three handsome, intelligent, funny boys. We love them very much. Today Debbie took the two older ones out grocery shopping while I vacuumed. It’s amazing how easy it is to get stuff done when there’s only one to look after. I put Micah in the snuggly and carried him around while I worked. No complaints from the baby. No hassle. No problem. After finishing the chores we went and sat outside in the sun for a while. Build up his vitamin D.

Then this afternoon the two older boys were taken out to play by two girls from church, Erica and Juanita. These two often look after one or more of the boys. They’re a wonderful, wonderful help. The boys were excited to go in a different car. And to be doing something new and fun. And without their parents. And Debbie and I were left with only the baby. Who was asleep. It’s amazing how much you can get done when you’re kid-free. It’s also eerily quiet.

Tonight the boys went to bed early, because they’d had no afternoon nap. We were left once again with just the baby (who keeps odd hours). We had the whole evening to ourselves. Imagine that!

So today I only saw Daniel and Joel at mealtimes. I got the rest of the day off. Yes, I love my boys. But today I really enjoyed my free day.
