The geese know winter is coming. They’ve been gearing up to fly south for weeks. They gather in the millpond across the street every evening, so at dusk we have a chorus of honks for about an hour as they settle in for the night. There’s a similar chorus at dawn, which we would hear if we were actually up and out at that time of day, which we’re not.

In other news, my weekend photo shoot has been canceled. How disappointing. But it’ll ease the rush of a fairly busy weekend.
