Debbie and I had come to a (mostly) unspoken agreement that the boys were too young to go trick or treating along our street. This afternoon people at work were rushing to get home early to dress their kids in their costumes, to go out hunting for candy. I smiled to myself because this wasn’t something I had to worry about for another year or so. Until I got home.

I was informed that Daniel wanted to go trick or treating as a skeleton. This was a plan concocted by Daniel and our neighbour’s son, and supported by Debbie, because (according to her) it was an easy costume to make. Turns out it was easy to make because I got delegated with the last-minute job of making Daniel his skeleton costume. Easy for her, that is.

Talk about a rush job! But Daniel thought it was great. He liked the foot bones the most. And going outside in the dark to ask for candy door to door was simply an amazing concept. He came home very satisfied with his loot and with the event in general.
