This baby keeps us up late at night. It’s not the crying, though there’s that every now and then. Mostly it’s just a happy, talkative baby wide awake well past midnight. It’s fun to play and talk to the baby when he’s alert and content. It’d be more fun if we weren’t keeling over from tiredness.

You may laugh: we’re quite capable of staying up late on our own. We don’t need a baby as an excuse. But having one child that wakes promptly at 7:30am, and another that doesn’t go to sleep until 1:00am really taxes our sanity.

He’ll eventually settle down to proper sleeping patterns (he’d better!) but in the meantime we stumble around semi-comatose from lack of sleep.
