Saturday’s Joys

One of the things Debbie likes most about Saturdays is that she doesn’t have to look after all three kids at the same time. She gets a break from heavy-duty parenting. One of the things I like most about Saturdays is that I can give Debbie a rest by looking after the children.
It’s late at night this Saturday. I’m sitting at the computer typing away while Debbie happily plays the piano. She’s been playing for almost an hour. The older boys are asleep in bed. Micah likes music and lies on the living room rug and listens. Sometimes he sings along, or beats his foot in time to the music. He’s happy.
Weekdays are often difficult at work and at home. But Saturdays are sometimes peaceful and joyful. Today my wife is happy. I am satisfied.
