We sang Christmas carols for a while tonight before putting the boys to bed. Debbie played the piano and sang. I sat on the coffee table and held Micah and sang. Micah (8 months) rested his head on my shoulder and hummed a continuous monotone. His version of singing. He loves music and will sing along and beat in time. Daniel (3) ran laps around the living room while singing “Angels We Have Heard On High”. I don’t know how he can run and still have breath to sing. Joel (2) was in a sulk at the top of the stairs, and refused to come down to sing. Every now and then he’d call out to make sure we all knew he was still grumpy.

We finished singing and went to put the boys to bed. By now Joel was over his sulk, and was disappointed that he’d missed out. So we had one more carol around the piano for Joel. He went to bed happy.

It’s Christmas.
