Boxing Day = Shopping

Mong Kok

We packed the kids into the car and went out shopping, wanting to catch those Boxing day deals. We looked at CDs, books, linen, shelving, toys, shoes, and chocolate, and ended up with about half the things on our list. The shops were not as crowded as we’d expected, and the boys were good (this always rates a mention). They enjoyed the outing, especially since we ate hot dogs from a street vendor. That’s always a popular lunch.

Photo note: This is a picture of the normal weekend crowd at Mong Kok, a popular Hong Kong shopping district. According to Wikipedia, it has the highest population density in the world (130,000 per km2). Our Boxing Day shopping was not this crowded.
