Sledding, a Missed Opportunity

...in a sled built for two (barely)

We had snow overnight, and it was a beautiful day. The boys went out to play, all bundled up in their snow suits. Not me. I was at work, thank goodness, safely tucked away in my nice warm, dry office. I’m not terribly fond of the outdoors, particularly when it’s cold.

Tonight I went out to go tobogganing with the church youth. They’d picked a particularly good hill, and piled into a couple of vans in high spirits. I dutifully followed along. It wasn’t far. There was a fair amount of traffic, but it was pretty easy to follow two vans. Right up until the vans pulled into a parking lot, the people got out, and they were nobody I’d ever seen before. The vans I ended up with were not the vans I started out with.

Since I didn’t actually know how to get to where I was supposed to be, I retraced my way back to the home everybody was going to show up at after tobogganing. I sat in a nice warm living room, drinking coffee and eating cookies, not feeling too disappointed in having missed the main event.
