I lost my camera eyecup in California over a week ago. I’ve been taking pictures without it ever since. This afternoon I finally got around to ordering a new one, and felt much better knowing it’s on its way and my camera will be complete again.

Tonight I needed to clean my glasses. I used the lens cleaner I keep in my camera bag, and as I put it back in the bag I felt something angular and odd in that compartment, something out of place. I took a closer look. It was the lost eyecup.

I didn’t know whether to be pleased or frustrated. Wry amusement won out, I think. So I’ll have a spare eyecup stashed away, just in case I lose the original one day.
