Family Life

I’ve been writing manuals for the past week, and I’m going stir-crazy with boredom. It’s like watching iron rust, only worse. I sit at my keyboard and type, and eventually just stare off into the distance, and then nod off. A minute later I’m awake again, glaring at the computer with loathing. And I go back to typing. What else can I do? It’s so quiet around here there’s nothing else to do. The floor is clear, no machines.

The US is gearing up (winding down?) for a recession, and the local papers say we’ll be hit the hardest because of all the manufacturing in this region. That’s bad news for us, and we’re looking to branch out into other areas to try and minimize our exposure. Meanwhile, I write manuals and feel grateful (sort of) for my steady job.
