Trailer Rigging

Work Trailer

This morning we moved offices into our new quarters. I’ve had a gloomy outlook on the move, and the day mirrored that mood–damp, foggy, gray. It was a bit sad leaving my old cubicle empty and abandoned. It’s nothing fancy, but I’ve been there for years and you grow attached. The actual moving was OK. Walking back and forth with boxes, chairs, drawers, computers, and the like. A good excuse not to do any real work. Power, networking and internet had been set up yesterday, and by this afternoon the phones were working too. Click here for a view of the interior.

So I’m all set up at a table that’s uncomfortable, with drawers that don’t fit, without shelves to put my books, and nowhere to put the old computer monitor. Maybe I can make a case for a new, thin LCD.

On the plus side, it’s warm and bright inside, despite the gray day, and I have a window. The steel side of the building is only two feet away so there’s not much of a view, but it’s nice to have a window.

I’m still not keen on the move, but now that I’m here I’m sure I’ll get used to it. Maybe it’ll grow on me, so that by the end of the summer when it’s time to move back to the old offices I’ll be sad to leave the trailer. Here’s hoping for a cheery, productive spring and summer.
