I’ve been kind of lazy in sorting through all our photos. The result is that I have a backlog going back to the end of the summer. There’s Daniel starting school, a couple of birthdays, Christmas, and a whole lot in between. The problem with letting things build up like that is that sorting through it all becomes a mammoth job, easily put off to a more suitable time. And so that’s why I have 8.5 GB of files to sort through. I want to get back to regular blogging in 2009 (my new New Year’s resolution!) and that requires I have up-to-date pictures to attach to posts, hence my motivation to clear away the backlog.

With current temperatures outside colder than the chest freezer in my basement, browsing through the photos brings a wistful longing for the warm days of summer past. Here’s a photo from September, when a mother deer brought two of her three offspring to visit.
